HIDDEN DANGERS

IN YOUR BATHROOM!

WHY?

LEAD-BASED GLAZES

ARE STILL NOT REGULATED

Lead in new ceramic tile, tubs and sinks can still be found today. Lead in paint, is the only thing that is regulated.

TESTING IS THE KEY

There is a cost effective way to test the tile and fixtures without damage. We are locally owned/operated and strive to provide the highest level of quality service, with competitive flexible pricing,

WHY INSPECTIONS ON

POST-1978 FIXTURES AND BATHROOMS IS ALSO A GOOD IDEA

While it is imperative to test and inspect paint, old cookware, ceramics and porcelain fixtures in your home that were manufactured before the 1980s, it can be reccomended to test all ceramic tiles and bathtub/sink fixtures.

Hazardous levels of lead in glaze found in wall and floor ceramic tile, cast iron and steel bathtubs/sinks has NEVER been regulated and is still being used today even in USA made products!

WHY ARE LEAD BASED GLAZES STILL A CONCERN?

  1. Removal of ceramic tile for remodeling can expose occupants and workers to hazardous levels of lead.
  2. Removal of tubs and sinks can expose to hazardous levels.
  3. Broken tiles can cause exposure
  4. Workers cutting and installing new tile can cause exposure.
  5. When the top layer of glaze is worn in a tub or sink, a child can be exposed to lead by putting the water in his/her mouth.
  6. An abrasive cleaner can cause exposure when used on cast iron or steel tubs/sinks.
